Cruisin' On Main Committee Launches Two New Opportunities To Support Cruisin' And Benefit Manchester Students
In 2013 the Cruisin' on Main Street Committee established a Cruisin' on Main Scholarship through the Manchester Scholarship Foundation, in memory of John "Randy" Thrall, a longtime committee member. Each year a Manchester student who is furthering his or her education is selected to receive the scholarship.
The Cruisin' Committee continues to build the scholarship with an annual donation from Cruisin'. The committee's goal is to make the scholarship self-perpetuating.
This year the Committee launched two special initiatives to help make this goal a reality: the Cruisin' VIP Program and Friends of Cruisin'. All monies raised from both of these programs will go directly to the Cruisin' on Main John "Randy" Thrall Scholarship Fund.
Cruisin' VIP - For a donation of $100.00 Cruisin' show car owners receive free show car admission and entry via a special Cruisin' VIP show car admission point with no lines; preferred parking for their show car at Show Center; two passes to the Highland Park Market VIP Food Court; recognition on the Cruisin' on Main website; announcement on the Cruisin' Facebook page; recognition in the Cruisin' on Main Program in the Journal Inquirer and an official embroidered Cruisin' baseball cap. Participation in this preferred program is limited to the first 25 show car owners who submit a registration form with payment. Only 12 spaces remain available. Vehicles must be 1987 or prior. Click here for full details.
Friends of Cruisin' - Cruisin' recognizes that many people enjoy Cruisin' and many businesses benefit from Cruisin' and may be looking for ways to support the event. Individuals and businesses may become a friend of Cruisin' for a donation of $100. As a Friend of Cruisin' they receive recognition on the Cruisin' on Main website; announcement on the Cruisin' Facebook page; recognition in the Cruisin' on Main Program in the Journal Inquirer and an official embroidered Cruisin' baseball cap.
Both of these new programs were the brainchildren of Cruisin' Committee members. In the words of Cruisin' Sponsorship Chair, Frank Parseliti, "We wanted to broaden opportunities for both collector car participants, and smaller businesses and individuals to participate in supporting Cruisin and help us to reach our goal of a insuring a legacy status for the Cruisin' on Main Street John "Randy" Thrall Memorial Scholarship."
